It is important our students build a network with one another, and gain the classroom experience online. Throughout our online webinar series, students will be encouraged to interact, and get involved within certain topics in the student forums. This may include course material, or even external factors effecting the fitness industry.

Yes, you will learn how to analyse your Personal Training clients’ diets and how to suggest changes and make recommendations.

When you enrol to study with FIAFitnation, please provide evidence of your previous qualifications, study and/or professional experience so that we can assess whether you have credit towards your fitness course. This course provides credit into higher education qualifications. Students who complete the Nutrition Coach course would be eligible for 10 credit points towards the following degrees:

The subjects you would gain credit for are:

No. To prescribe nutritional supplements, you need to hold a Bachelor’s degree, for example, the Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) at FIAFitnation’s sister college, Endeavour College of Natural Health.

Yes, the course includes units on planning, evaluating and modifying meal plans for your personal training clients. You will have the opportunity to practice writing meal plans for yourself, your family and friends as part of your assessment.

Students will receive a Certificate or Statement of Attainment on completion of their chosen program, to FIAFitnation’s required standards.

Yes, the prescribed textbook is Understanding Nutrition, 4th Edition.
This book is available in hardcopy or as an e-book. There is also a recommended reading list outlining reference books, textbooks, blogs and websites that may be useful for your studies.

All materials needed to complete our courses are available online. You can also access extra reference materials in our libraries on campus, which can potentially save you hundreds.

There are no formal written exams for this course. Assessments are all online and take the form of short answer responses, blogs, social media posts, case studies or videos demonstrating your understanding of the learning material.

Do I need to wear a surgical mask?2020-03-17T05:49:05+11:00

Wearing surgical masks when out in the community are only helpful in preventing people who have coronavirus disease from spreading it to others.

If you are not sick, you do not need to wear a surgical mask as there is little evidence supporting the widespread use of surgical masks in healthy people to prevent transmission in public.

Yes. You can either pay for your course in full up-front (and there are advantages in doing so!) or opt for one of our flexible and affordable payment plans.

How do I apply for Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)?2020-03-06T15:03:59+11:00

RPL recognises any of your prior knowledge and experience and measures it against the Unit of Competency or Unit of Study that you are enrolled in. If successful in your application, you may not need to complete all of a training program as you already possess some of the competencies within the Nutrition Coach course. To apply for RPL, email educational.pathways@endeavour.edu.au with details of the Unit requested.

  • Close contact with an infectious person
  • Contact with droplets from an infected person’s cough or sneeze
  • Touching objects or surfaces (like doorknobs or tables) that have cough or sneeze droplets from an infected person, and then touching your mouth or face.

With online learning, you’re the boss. You get your course content, submit your assessments and receive your grades through our online learning platform. So you have the flexibility to study wherever you are; on a train, in a café, at home, the choice is yours. You can fit in study around your life – in between clients, before work or when the kids are asleep. Think of the platform as your online campus, it has everything you need, but is more convenient.

You may be someone who watches an online presentation once and gets it, while others may need to refer to further notes and videos to fully understand the topic. This means you may finish faster or slower than the allocated course time.

How long does COVID-19 last on surfaces?2020-03-17T05:49:52+11:00

It is not certain how long the virus that causes COV-19 survives on surfaces, but studies suggest coronaviruses may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. If you think a surface may be infected, clean it with a common household disinfectant to kill the virus. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water and avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose.

You will have support 24/7. Online you can access our ‘Tutor Frequently Asked Questions’ area. If you have a question about course content, your exams or the learning platform you can email your online tutors during business hours, from Monday to Friday. On campus you can request an appointment to meet your tutor face-to–face, or speak with our Support Services Team via phone or in person.

Continual support and contact with your online trainer is an essential part of studying online. Our online trainers run frequent live webinars to keep in contact with our students, generally on a weekly basis. It is suggested that our students log into our online system to view our webinars, and follow their study plans on a weekly basis.

It is normal to experience some worry or concern about this issue, however if it begins to affect your mental health or physical wellbeing it is recommended you seek support from a health professional.

FIAFitnation offers a free and confidential counselling and support service for students. The College Student Assistance Program (SAP) is available 24/7 through Access EAP. Call 1800 336 207 or accesseap.com.au. The SAP counsellors are fully trained and will be able the support that you need at this time.

Due to course competencies, the Certificate III & Certificate IV in Fitness courses do have a practical assessment weekend on campus to put the theory into practice.

The course is not accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), however units within the course are well recognised in the industry by the professional body, Fitness Australia and receive a total of 24 CECs. The course is designed to equip you with a very specific knowledge and skillset that no other course can provide. This also means the course includes all the content you’re interested in and not the boring stuff.

The online trainers’ role is to assist students with queries regarding learning materials, assessment tasks, or the course structure, as well as keep students on track with their study plan. Students will be contacted by the online trainer regularly, and have the option to contact their online trainer via email, or phone at any stage of the course.

All assessments are now completed online, whenever it suits the student within the course timeframe. Assessments range from written answers, multiple choice, true or false, and case study scenarios. Students will be given feedback on their assessments to again ensure their skill level is high before entering the fitness industry.

Symptoms can range from mild illness to pneumonia. People with coronavirus may experience fever, flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and fatigue, and shortness of breath. Some people will recover easily, and others may get very sick very quickly.

After completing your course, we recommend that you register with Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia. As different countries have differing requirements when it comes to working in the fitness industry, we encourage you to speak with potential overseas employers or contact Fitness Australia to understand what you will need to work in other countries.

We’ve got your back. Insurance is essential in the fitness industry and you need to be covered for all the additional nutrition services you can offer.
That’s why we’ve organised with Marsh Advantage to offer graduates insurance for both fitness and nutrition qualifications.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses that can range from the common cold to more severe diseases. The new strain of coronavirus was first reported in December 2019 and has been named Coronavirus (COVID-19), ‘novel coronavirus’ and ‘2019-nCov’.

Other coronaviruses include Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

The program is at a level which allows you to work autonomously, and in collaboration with other allied health professionals. This course is designed to fast track your career in nutrition and wellness. After completing this course, you can undertake more advanced qualifications at an undergraduate (Bachelor) level. In degree programs in nutrition or dietetics, students would usually study advanced topics such human physiology, biochemistry, genetics, health conditions and diseases related to poor nutrition and the impact on health. A Bachelor degree allows graduates to prescribe supplements, request pathology tests, identify contraindications associated with drug-nutrient interactions and to register as a Nutritionist.

When you enrol in the Nutrition Coach course, you’ll be joining a whole community of staff and students who can offer support when you need it. You’re not alone – you will be allocated a personal Online Tutor who is available via phone, email or for a face to face appointment. Your Tutor will guide you through your studies and answer any questions you have. The Student Support Team will get you started in the course and will also be there to assist throughout the entire time you’re studying with us. When you graduate, the support keeps going – we offer assistance with job placement, networking and online coaching opportunities and careers advice.

We will review this on a case by case basis. In some cases subjects may be able to be taken online or a webinar may be set up in order for you to continue your studies. We can support you with attendance requirements or schedule in make up work shops, depending on the situation.

It’s important to practise good hygiene to prevent the spread and contraction of infections. This includes:

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water
  • Using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • Avoiding close contact with others, such as touching

If you have a confirmed case, you need to isolate yourself to prevent it spreading to other people.

Those at highest risk are those who have recently been in mainland China and Iran, or have been in been in close contact with someone who is a confirmed case of coronavirus.

The elderly and people with underlying medical conditions such as heart or lung disease may be at risk of a more severe disease if infected.

Students will be required to access some fitness equipment during the practical stages of this course. Students will liaise with a local health club facility to use their equipment for the video filming (for practical course elements), or purchase this equipment as it will be essential when they start personal training.
