This one day nationally recognised short course deals with the provision of essential First Aid in recognising and responding to an emergency in the workplace.
It will cover a range of topics including but not limited to:
Eye and head injuries
Safety at home and in the work place
Sprains and bruising
Fainting and seizures
Treating children and infants
This course corresponds to the unit of competency code HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and is valid for three years from date of completion. This course is suitable for Endeavour College of Natural Health students or academics requiring certification for practical clinic subjects, or anyone wanting to gain HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Certification to safely and confidently apply First Aid in any situation. This qualification satisfies the Work/Occupational Health and Safety Act to become the ‘nominated workplace first aider’. It is also required for graduating students of Endeavour College of Natural Health for registration with the various healthcare funds and regulatory associations. Participants are required to complete a pre-course module either online or in hard copy and then attend 6.5 hours of face-to-face training. During this session a range of practical skills (CPR, bandaging, slings, casualty assessment etc) are conducted via a series of assessment scenarios. Please ensure you book into this course early to reserve your place and allow sufficient time to complete the pre-course workbook provided to you.
