Sarah has always been an active person. She did a lot of fitness for music theatre – some general strength specific to dancing, lots of cardio and aerobic endurance. During classes, she watched the instructors and thought, “I want to do what they do.” Finally, she decided to study a Certificate III in Fitness.
Why study a Certificate III in Fitness?
A SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness qualifies you to work as a Gym Floor Instructor or Group Exercise Instructor after graduation. This course will teach you the fundamental skills to help new members learn how to use the equipment and take small groups through basic programming. You’ll also learn the anatomy, physiology and gain an understanding of healthy eating guidelines.
“I found so many schools online and so many different courses,” Sarah said. “I wrote out a long list of questions. The first place I called was FIAFitnation, and I got such a good vibe straightaway. They were so helpful and had so much time for all of my questions!”
“When I called a few other places, none of them matched up, not even close,” Sarah said. So, I just knew FIA was where I wanted to go, and I have no regrets. The lecturers and the teachers are awesome. They had so much time for us, and they were always willing to chat or help us. It was cool as well to study on-campus and connect with people who have similar interests.”
Sarah was so keen on learning everything she could that she didn’t miss a day. Her enthusiasm paid off. During class, one of her lecturers asked if anyone was interested in a job at F45 and Sarah jumped at the opportunity. Before she had even graduated, she had secured a job there as a Group Fitness Instructor.
“I just love it! I love helping, inspiring and motivating people. It’s honestly a pretty special thing to be able to do,” she said. “I’m always thinking about how I can help the person get better results.”
While Sarah is not 100 per cent sure what the future holds, she’s sticking with fitness, and she’s super-excited about it. She is back studying a Certificate IV in Fitness with FIAFitnation.
“I want to bring knowledge to people and educate them wisely,” Sarah said. “There’s too much exercise for punishment. I want people to enjoy exercise, and I want them to feel good.”
