If you’ve ever dreamed about combining your love of travel with your passion for fitness, then dream no more.
Current FIAFitnation student Samantha Leopoidevin has proved that you can have it all. Studying a Diploma of Nutrition and Dietetics for Personal Trainers while juggling her job on board a cruise ship, truly is living every personal trainers dream.
Do you want to follow in Samantha’s footsteps? Want to know what it takes to work overseas? Interested to know how she does it all? Fortunately, we got the opportunity to talk to Samii when she docked in stunning Alaska – here is her story.
What inspired you to study a Diploma of Nutrition and Dietetics for Personal Trainers?
“I have always been passionate about the health and fitness industry and this only increased when I became a Personal Trainer. I based my decision to study the diploma on the fact that I wanted to learn everything I possibly could about food and nutrition. I’m passionate about teaching and coaching my clients about good nutrition, so together we can get the best possible results. With the right education behind me, I could make this dream come true.”
What are you enjoying the most about your course?
“I have honestly enjoyed every day of my course so far. I am constantly learning something different and the course covers many different aspects and subjects. I especially enjoy the coaching and communication subject, as I can apply what I’ve learned into everyday life situations - not just for my clients but in the workplace too!”
How would you describe your experience at FIAFitnation?
“Absolutely outstanding! The team at FIAFitnation have been flexible with my work commitments and truly understand my (currently) crazy lifestyle. I’ve also enjoyed participating in off-campus events and working closely with the FIAFitnation team.
Earlier in the year I was lucky enough to help them create their Super Smoothie eBook (I gave them my favourite green smoothie recipe). I also got the opportunity to meet all of them at this years’ FILEX event in Melbourne. I have never met such a friendly, enthusiastic team of people who are all passionate about health and fitness!
Helping out with the eBook and meeting the team was definitely one of my highlights of the course so far. Being able to put names to the faces I’ve meet (and see more of what they do) was truly amazing.”
How has FIAFitnation helped you live your career dreams?
“Thankfully, I’m able to study my course while I travel and work overseas. I do have a busy lifestyle so the flexible study options available at FIAFitnation has really helped me juggle work and life – I really am living the dream!
Currently I am the on-board Personal Trainer for a cruise ship travelling around Alaska. I love my job and being able to travel for work, so it’s amazing that I can still work my studies around my clients – thanks FIAFitnation.”
What advice would you give to students looking to study at FIAFitnation?
“Do it! It’s been one of the best experiences so far and I wouldn’t change it for a second. Knowledge is only power, it’s when you take action to use it that you can really make a difference.
Remember to not doubt yourself and follow your dreams – they can come true. I’m proof! The knowledge I have gained at FIAFitnation has helped me build my career, the team is just so helpful, honestly I wouldn’t choose anywhere else to study.”
