This Course provides an overview of principles for instructors to follow when advising pregnant ladies and new Mums.

The information provided in the course will be relevant to many of your female clients and they will appreciate your knowledge to assist them in this area.

The course includes:

  • Aims and benefits associated with exercise during pregnancy
  • Exercise prescription for the maintenance of health and general wellbeing
  • Anatomical, physiological and biomechanical changes that occur during the three trimesters of pregnancy and the post natal period
  • Possible risks associated with exercise during pregnancy for both the pregnant female and the growing foetus
  • Exercises that should be avoided during certain stages of pregnancy
  • Contraindications to exercise during pregnancy

Assessment Method Short answer questions that need to be completed within 3 months.
